Riding a skateboard on and off for a large chunk of my life somehow led to shaping my own handmade boards. I wanted to try to contribute to a culture that has had such a huge impact on my life. Through researching how to make skateboards, I came across other makers who, I felt, needed to have a showcase for their insane talents. That’s how Neck Pain skate zine came into existence. It’s a way to see art and creativity through the lens of skateboarding. While Neck Pain is geared towards older skaters (although I think anyone can enjoy it) there are other artists and creative people outside that world that do amazing things, hence my Makers/Creatives interview page.
